About EVRF

The Cabazon Band of Cahuilla Indians owns a square mile in Mecca, California. EVRF is located on a 40-acre parcel,  previously leased and managed by a third-party operating team.

In 2023, the Tribe assumed management and operations of the facility. The Tribes goals are three-fold: economic diversification, developing a cleanup fund to remove legacy material left by others and foster development of innovative remediation techniques in the industry.

The management team consists of two environmental professionals who have been in the industry and worked for the Tribe for over twenty years. They have working relationships with federal and state government regulators and the local community. The daily operation of the facility is run by a team of five employees.
